Tulisa 'I need you' video look

This is my take on the look Tulisa wore in Ndubz new video 'I need you'. It's a fantastic 40's inspired look with a modern twist. I used Rimmel 1000 kisses lip pencil and lipstick in red for the lips and 'woodwinked' eyeshadow blended in the crease over a 'brulee' eyeshadow base for the eyes. This look has dramatic eyelashes so I layered up on the MAC mascara X and then put on 2true lashes. I love this look and with a little practise I can put these lashes on with ease. Have a go at recreating this look and let me know your thoughts.

The style black collection

I was not sure about the SB collection. I was not too fussed from the swatches on temptalia and here in the Uk we are behind in collections so I did not race to my local MAC on the day of release like some other collections recently....

However, I did pop in to the Cambridge branch to have a peek. I LOVE IT!

I bought three of the four mineralized eyshadows. I bought cinderfella, gilt by association and . They are great. I have used them dry or wet, on a base or on it's own and they have been fab. I have found that using my UDPP and fix + on top seals it in. I use them with a little carbon in the outer v for definition. I also bought the 'holy grail' Volcanic ash exfoliator which I have used a few times.... not too sure if I am ready to ditch my St Ives apricot exfoliator but I will let you know.

I am off to London with the hubby tomorrow so maybe I will add to my collection. Stay tuned peeps...

Pixie Lott 'Boys and girls' music video inspired make up video

Hey guys!

I have posted a new video tutorial based on this look. It is an awesome dramatic look concentrating on emphasizing the eye.
To get this look I used Rimmel recover foundation, Macs studio sculpt concealer in NW20, Primark brow gel, Mac's blackground paint pot, Urban decay 24/7 eyeliner in zero and Macs mineralized eyeshadow in cinderfella from the style black collection. I used Rimmel sexy curves mascara with 2true flase eyelashes to get a dramatic eye. For the lips I used ambre rose maybelline colour sensational lipstick and on the cheeks I used Maybelline colour mouse in pink.
This is a great look that is great on light skintone and blonde hair. Keep the lips nude to focus on the eyes. Let me know what you think!

My latest video. A make up look inspired by Cheryl Coles video 'Fight for this love'

My inspiration

This video shows my take on one of the looks that Cheryl Cole wears in her 'Fight for this love' video. This still is what inspired me. It is very dramatic in the video but I have toned it down for wearability. I love the black eye shadow blended across the eye socket and into the nose bridge. Very unique and great for adding definition to the face.

I used the following products to create this look:

Mac Studio sculpt foundation NW20

Mac Studio sculpt concealer NW20

Mac Mineralized skinfinish

Urban decay primer potion

Mac Skintone 1 eye shadow (Notoriety quad)

Mac Earthy tones eye shadow (Notoriety quad)

Mac Woodwinked eye shadow

Mac Carbon eye shadow

Barbara Daly eye khol in Black

Mac fluid line in Blacktrack

Rimmel sexy curves mascara

Mac mineralized skinfinish in Cheeky bronze

Bourjois 3D effect lip gloss in Rose Mythic

She wears it much more dramatic. If this is your cuppa' tea then add some falsies and extra thick eyeliner. Have fun guys!

Hot and Not - September '09

Hey guys,

Just a little post with my Hot and Not list. This details whats in and out in my life.

Hot!

Bourjois Metalize eye khol pencils. These are AMAZING! Long lasting and in awesome colours. I have a turqoise which I use to line my waterline when I wear my 'boring work makeup'. It really adds something to the look. The best thing is no eye bogeys or panda eyes. Top, top product!

Maybelline Coloursensational Ambre Rose lip stick. This lippy is getting a lot of coverage in blog land and I can see why. A fab rosey pink which glides on the lips. It suits my pale skintone and not many pinks do! And the price tag is very attractive....

Palmers cocoa butter with olive oil body butter. This version of the old cocoa butter is just as good. Very soothing and my skin feels moisturised all day.

Saturday night tv. Strictly come dancing, X factor and now the cult 'Hole in the wall'. All I need is Total wipeout and my saturday nights are complete! Lol

Not?

Bourjois Effet 3D Max lip gloss. Now I am a 'glass half full' kinda girl and don't like to hate something. While the lip gloss is fab (I have a lovely plummy red) the applicator is awful. It is a small teardrop plastic applicator with 'wells' to store the gloss. It does not work! You cannot reapply a second coat because the plastic applicator removes the first coat-RRRRRrrrrrrr! I refuse to use it now and I apply with a lip brush.

Spots, zits, blemishes, pimples whatever you wish to call them. I HATE them! I am prone to a breakout around my 'monthlys'. Tea tree oil is my saviour combined with clean and clear oil free moisturiser. Failing that tootpaste over night. It works!

Let me know your 'Ins' and 'outs'..

Big hugs xx

New video! Tulisa look from the Ouch video

This is a fab look with a real grey lid colour and framed black lined eyes. I prepared my skin using the Mac studio sculpt foundation in nw20. Benefits erase paste in 02 to cover my (many!) pimples and set with Mac's mineralized skin finish in natural light. I primed my eyes with Urban decay primer potion to ensure the shadow did not crease. I used the artistik palette (from ebay) for the main colours. I used the slate grey in the socket and up just past the socket line in a rounded shape. I then used a mac 217 brush with a little nude shadow to blend out the edges . I then used a black eyeliner (Barbara Daly for Tesco in 01 Black) to line the upper and lower lash lines. I then used a cotton bud to smudge the line and I repeated it to make sure it was visible. I then used a mac 226 brush to place some 'Carbon' eyeshadow to set the liner. To highlight the inner corner of my eye I used a pencil brush to place in a 'L' shape aroung my tear duct. I then placed a matt white from the palette under the brow bone and I blended them all together with a Mac 217. I used Macs 'Don't be shy' hot pink blusher from the Barbie loves mac collection but any hot pink will do on the apples of my cheeks and then back towards the hair line. I then used Colour crafted lipstick with a little 'starlet kiss' gloss. This gloss is from the Heatherette collection and was limited edition. Mac if you read this repromote this!! Hope you enjoy and keep checking back for more.

My daily foundation routine

I have just done a quick video to show you what I do every morning when I get ready for my day ahead. I used Mac's select cover up to even the skin tone around my nose and mouth. I applied this with my Mac 190 foundation brush. I then used boi-ing industrial strength concealer in 02 to my under eye area with my ring finger. I set the lot off with Mac mineralized skin finish swirled and buffed on using a Mac kabuki 182 brush. It's a simple routine that is quite natural and long lasting. I hope you enjoy!
